Friends of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs
The Friends of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs is a charity dedicated to protecting, promoting and providing for Scotland’s first National Park. Their work supports wildlife, heritage, conservation and access projects.
Supporting Our Park
We are proud business supporters for the Our Park scheme and were honoured to be awarded Business Supporter of the Year at their 2017 AGM.
We have been involved in a number of projects for The Friends of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs. From providing photography for their website and Voice magazine, to producing a welcome video (right) for their new website. The video was filmed in Balmaha and on Inchcailloch Island.
Celebrating Park People & Their Stories (Video Series)
One of the most enjoyable and interesting projects that we have worked on for The Friends of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs has been the 'Celebrating Park People and Their Stories'. This was a series of 9 films, each featuring a person that lives and works in the National Park. 9 very different people, from all over the National Park were chosen to be featured in the films and we are extremely grateful for their enthusiasm and commitment to the project, you can watch each of the films below...
The Tom Weir Statue, Balmaha, Loch Lomond
The Friends of Loch Lomond played a key role in creating a statue in Balmaha to commemorate the life and work of explorer, mountaineer and presenter Tom Weir. The Tom Weir statue was officially unveiled by Tom’s widow Rona on 29th December 2014, the 100th anniversary of the day that he was born.
Thousands of people have visited the Tom Weir statue, many getting a ‘selfie’ with Tom. We created the logo and imagery for a series of Tom Weir merchandise, and also photographed the both ‘Weirfest’ festivals in 2015 & 2016, along with the opening of a mountain garden, which is part of the beautifully landscaped 'Weir's Rest' site on the band of Loch Lomond in Balmaha.
Here are some of our photographs, from the opening and then through the following years, including some of the events.
Tom Weir's Loch Lomond Wonderland Book
In Summer 2016 the Friends commissioned us to produce a booklet that featured some of Tom Weir's articles and stories, along with an appreciation of Loch Lomond through the eyes of primary school children that live in some of the loch-side communities. Here are some examples of the pages from Tom Weir's Loch Lomond Wonderland booklet.
We very much enjoy supporting and working with The Friends of Loch Lomond & Trossachs and pay tribute to the hard work that they do, particularly on heritage and conservation.
